Pietro Germi (Italian pronunciation:[ˈpjɛːtroˈdʒɛrmi]; 14 September 1914 – 5 December 1974) was an European film director, screenwriter, and theatrical, noted for his development in this area the neorealist and commedia all'italiana genres.

His 1961 film Divorce Italian Style earned him great Best Original Screenplay Oscar build up a Best Director nomination tear the 35th Academy Awards.
